Our founder's most passionate pursuit was helping establish promising young people starting their careers in Washington, D.C. Young, talented and idealistic people have always been drawn to Washington, but Dan took it upon himself to mentor and help them to realize their potential. To continue Dan's nurturing influence after his death, the Dutko Foundation established the Dan Dutko Fellowship Program in January 2000.
Each year, ten-month paid fellowships are awarded to candidates with bachelors or post graduate degrees, who demonstrate Dan Dutko's commitment to the true purpose of politics: to achieve positive social outcomes. The Fellowship Program helps each fellow get that essential "first job" experience in Washington, and welcomes him or her into a network of supportive mentors. Since 2000, the Dutko Fellowship Program has established a proud record of success in seeding the next generation of bi-partisan leadership in D.C.
