The Dutko Group Companies Announce New Global Division to Build Worldwide Public-Private Partnerships: Dutko Global Advisors, LLC : 03-10-2004

WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 10, 2004 – The Dutko Group Companies, Inc., the nation’s leading national government affairs firm, today announced the launch of, Dutko Global Advisors, a new company providing global government relations and international market development and access services. The launch is part of Dutko’s mission to build an international public policy management firm comprised of best-in-class professionals that help clients solve their most difficult policy, market access, legislative and regulatory issues.

“The idea is really born out of Dutko’s very successful state-based partnership building firm, Kaufman, Pattee, Branstad & Miller (KNP)”, said co-founder, Ron Kaufman. “We are replicating what we have uniquely built at the state level. By hiring professionals that have served government at the highest level, we can marry client objectives with government’s needs and create positive public-private outcomes.” He added “Sally and Karen are truly the very best. They bring international recognition and respect, bipartisan relationships founded on trust, and proven success in helping US companies abroad, as well as foreign entities who need help not only here in the US, but throughout the globe.” Ron Kaufman will lead Dutko’s commitment to expanding its international footprint, starting with initial operations in Europe.

Dutko Global Advisors will provide world-class representation, foreign policy analysis and support, opportunity assessment, crisis management, issue advocacy, legislative management and strategy services to clients throughout the world. Clients of the company already include governments, leaders, multinational corporations, NGOs, and multilateral institutions with global-scale needs.

“Dutko has built a national reputation of helping clients penetrate government markets, and build lasting and productive partnerships with state and federal governments. With the launch of Dutko Global Advisors we are executing on our vision to geographically expand our abilities to build productive and constructive public-private partnerships,” said Chief Executive Officer, Mark Irion.

“This broadens the dimension of our services, expanding our reach for existing and new clients, and opening our nationally recognized relationships with federal and state government, and the North American business community, to foreign clients needing B2G and B2B support, “ added Irion,

Dutko Global Advisors is directed by Sally Painter and Karen Tramontano, who have built – both individually and jointly – an impressive and reputable practice marrying public and private interests internationally. With over 20 years’ experience advising corporations and governments on international business/investment and foreign policy issues. Ms. Painter has played a leadership role on NATO expansion, EU enlargement, and the normalization of trade relations with China. She has also served as a senior advisor to the late US Secretary of Commerce, Ronald H. Brown for advocacy programs and private sector development activities, and most recently managed the International Division at the Downey McGrath Group.

Karen Tramontano brings rock-solid experience and capabilities, having served as Deputy Chief of Staff to President Clinton. Ms. Tramontano was responsible for international economic affairs portfolio at the White House from 1997-2001. In this capacity, she led the efforts to develop the Comprehensive Steel Plan to rationalize global steel production, coordinated the privatization of the U.S. Enrichment Corporation, and led the effort to enact enforceable child labor laws at the global level. Currently, Ms. Tramontano is a Senior Advisor to the Director General of the International Labor Organization, and along with Ms. Painter, represents various government and political leaders, and corporate interests from the banking, shipping, energy, textiles and high tech sectors.

Ms. Tramontano is also the founder and President of the Global Fairness Initiative (GFI), a nongovernmental organization dedicated to supporting innovations in globalization that demonstrate the viability and widespread value of fair trading standards. Chaired by President Clinton, GFI has a Board of Directors representing diverse global leadership from business, government, and civil society. “Dutko Global Advisors is proud to support the work and mission of GFI, said Irion, because its work is fundamentally about nurturing the virtuous cycle of free and fair trade, the creation of economic opportunities, and harmonious relations worldwide.”
