Dutko Worldwide : Building Public-Private Partnerships
home  :  practice areas  :  energy

For more than 20 years, Dutko Worldwide has played a major role in shaping nearly every major state and federal energy debate. As a result, we are consistently recognized as the premier energy public affairs management practice, and our professionals have been recognized among the top energy lobbyists in Washington.

Over the years, we have represented clients in many different aspects of the energy policy. We have represented petroleum and petrochemical interests and have been at the forefront of congressional debates concerning fuels, supply and distribution and facility security. Because many of our clients use natural gas as both a feedstock and generating source, we have been instrumental in policy development to stabilize its supply and price. We also have represented client interests in the national electricity debates, including the promotion of wholesale competition through standard market rules, and transmission policies that do not discriminate against merchant power.

In addition to our traditional energy client portfolio, we have been active in exploring intelligent and business-friendly policies on renewable energy development, including solar power, biomass, and efficiency/conservation.

Recently, we played a leading role in the development of policies that affect the future of national laboratories and the evolving role of technology in improving our national electricity grid.

Consumers Alliance for Affordable Natural Gas
U.S. natural gas prices have skyrocketed to historically high levels and fundamental economic pressures are likely to keep them high for the foreseeable future. These sustained high prices are having dramatic effects across the U.S. economy. In 2004, the Consumers Alliance for Affordable Natural Gas formed to organize a diverse array of consumers to draw attention to the growing crisis and call on Congress to enact a balanced natural gas policy. Success of the campaign depended on securing support from a variety of key stakeholders to persuade Congress that a fresh perspective is needed to address this crisis and save American jobs and industry.
