Andy Wright brings a unique mix of political, legal and public policy experience to Dutko Worldwide, where he is a Senior Vice President in our Washington office. Andy is an attorney with over twenty-six years experience in Washington engaged in lobbying, association management, public service, staff and policy development and strategic planning. He provides leadership and direction to the firm's Energy, Environment and Sustainability practice and is also a member of the firm's telecommunications team. In these two capacities, he lobbies on behalf of energy, environment, telecommunications and financial services clients.
Andy twice served as Chief of Staff for Congressman Rick Boucher (D-VA), beginning in 1982 after managing Boucher’s first Congressional campaign. For more than a decade, Andy advised Boucher on issues including energy, telecommunications, intellectual property and insurance. He came to Dutko directly from the office of Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA), where he also served as Chief of Staff. Sherman is a senior member of the House Financial Services, Foreign Affairs and Judiciary Committees.
Andy served as President of the Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA), a trade association that represented the satellite television, radio and broadband industries. Prior to that, he served as Vice President, Government Affairs, for the American Insurance Association, a national trade association representing the property-casualty insurance industry.
Andy received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law and is a graduate of Emory and Henry and Lees-McRae Colleges.
