MaryClare Fitzgerald, a Vice President and Director of Financial Services, handles the full spectrum of issues for the financial services industry. A graduate of the College of William and Mary, she also holds an M.A. in International Relations from the renowned Johns Hopkins University SAIS Program, and received her J.D. from the George Mason School of Law. MaryClare first earned her knowledge of the Congress by serving on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee. She then became Washington representative – initially for the multinational financial institution Bank of America and later for Chase Manhattan.

During the course of her career, financial services issues have always been the primary focus, with clients and their interests ranging from securities to insurance, banking and real estate. The issues on which she has represented a myriad of clients for many years now required accumulation of expertise in banking regulation and bank law; insurance issues covering a broad scope of areas, now including optional federal charter, natural disasters and TRIA; and securities, covering subprime lending, SEC regulation and CFTC/NFA commodity-related concerns. Extensive contacts, access and strong reputation with the regulatory agencies, as well as the Congress, enhance the reporting and advocacy capabilities that Dutko is able to provide to its financial services clients, given the history and depth of MaryClare’s career and work within the financial services industry.

As President and CEO of the Women’s High Tech Coalition for many years, the technology industry as it relates to the key members in Congress with expertise in this area, are also part of additional strengths she brings to provide comprehensive financial services industry coverage in Washington.
