K. Max Hamel is a Vice President at Dutko Worldwide with a government affairs practice focused on the BRAC, defense, aerospace, transportation, healthcare, immigration and security technology sectors. He also represents municipal governments before executive branch agencies and the Army Corps of Engineers. His clients range from small start-ups to Fortune 500 and multi-national companies at both the state and federal level. He is based in Washington, DC.
Since joining Dutko Worldwide in 2002, Mr. Hamel has been actively involved with the firm’s state, federal and specialty government markets practice representing clients before Congress and the Administration, as well as providing targeted strategic advice related to procurement, public-private partnerships and market expansion.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hamel served as Policy Advisor to Governor Jim Gilmore (R-VA) from 1998-2002. In this role, he assisted in the development of the Governor’s legislative, regulatory and policy agenda in the areas of economic development, trade and technology. Mr. Hamel also served as the Chairman’s staff to the Congressional Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce.
Mr. Hamel graduated from the University of Richmond with concentrations in business administration and political science.
