The current political climate of Georgia is one of change. In the last 5 years, Georgia has gone from being completely controlled by Democrats to having the GOP hold almost complete control of statewide offices. When Sonny Perdue was elected as the first GOP governor since reconstruction the state house and senate were also Democrat controlled, and had been since the Civil War. Since Perdue’s election, however, the GOP now has majorities in both chambers as well as the Executive branch. With such immense change comes uncertainty as well as great opportunity in the private sector.
