Alfredo serves as Vice President and manages Dutko Worldwide’s Miami office. Prior to joining Dutko, Alfredo served as Executive Director of the Cuban American National Foundation (CANF). He has extensive knowledge and relationships in state and local government in Florida. His practice focuses on assisting clients with their policy development, advocacy, communications strategy and business development objectives.
Alfredo previously served as Director of Public Affairs for former Miami-Dade County Mayor Alex Penelas. During his twelve years of County service, Alfredo was an advisor to the Mayor on administrative matters, policy development, constituent services, media strategy and community relations. While in this role, he also assisted in the drafting of an emergency response and humanitarian plan for a change in Cuban government and as a key advisor to the Office of Emergency Management during multiple hurricane activations. Working alongside the Greater Miami Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, he led community efforts to bring major events to South Florida such as the Latin GRAMMYS and the MTV Video Music Awards.
Alfredo earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Florida International University. In addition to CANF and other related causes, he is active with Leadership Florida and serves on the boards of the American Red Cross Greater Miami and Keys Chapter, Camillus House, a non-profit organization that provides humanitarian services to poor and homeless men, women and children, and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami.
