Sunglasses are associated with style and glamour. Wearing quality sunglasses is essential while you spend time outside because they decrease the damage to your eyes caused by the sun. Similar to your skin, your eyes can also get sunburned. Prolonged exposure to the sun and UV radiation can cause long-term eye problems. Though you can buy sunglasses from a departmental store to a specialty store, a good pair like Carrera sunglasses provides complete protection and makes you look stylish. Sunglasses provide comfort, reduce glare and squinting and protect your eyes from the sun.

    UV protection

The most crucial purpose of sunglasses is to protect your eyes. Your sunglasses must provide you with 100% UV protection. Select a sunglass that blocks 99 to 100% of the UV rays.

    Right size

Pick the right size by testing out a few pairs. It should provide excellent protection and the best aesthetic look. The lens should cover your eyes and the surrounding areas completely to prevent sunlight from seeping through the sides. The nosepiece of the sunglasses should fit your nose.

    Polarisation

Polarised lenses give better protection than the standard UVA and UVB lenses. They prevent eye strain and squinting not only when the weather is sunny but also on overcast days.

    The shape of the frame

An important aspect of choosing a frame is your face structure. The frame should complement the features of your face and suit your jawline. Sunglasses frames are available in various contemporary colours, designs, and materials. Choose one that compliments your appearance.

    Quality of the lens

Sunglass lenses should be scratch-resistant and impact-resistant. However, most people prefer polycarbonate lenses as they are lightweight and more impact resistant.

    Lens colour

Grey and brown coloured lenses are most preferred because they distort colour perception the least.  UV protection is not about the colour of the lens. However, the lens colour affects the visual contrast.

    Cost

Not all expensive sunglasses give good protection to your eyes. If it has 100% UV blocking, then even the less expensive sunglasses can be very useful.

    Reasons to wear sunglasses.

    Sunlight causes eye diseases.

Your skin needs sunscreen to be protected from excessive sunlight. Similarly, your eyes need protection from the sun’s radiation. Without sunglasses, unfiltered sunlight reaches your eyes and damages your retina and cornea. It can lead to cataracts, macular degeneration, and eye cancer.

Sand, wind, and snow glare irritate the eyes.

80% of the UV rays from the sun get reflected from the snow. The glare can burn the cornea and cause snow blindness. On beach sand can cause severe irritation and soiling of the eye. Excessive wind dries out your eyes and causes irritation. Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes in these situations.

    Recovery from eye surgery

After eye surgery, your eye needs to be protected during recovery time. You may experience discomforts like mild irritation, light sensitivity, glare, and halos. The right method to protect your eyes is by wearing good quality sunglasses which help your eyes to heal smoothly and quickly.

    Sunglasses are stylish

It is a fun reason, but you will enjoy wearing sunglasses of different sizes, shapes, and colours. You can have different sunglasses to coordinate with different dresses. A good pair of sunglasses not only protect your eyes but also make you look and feel great.

Buy a good quality sunglass to safeguard your eyes. Stylish sunglasses, like Carrera sunglasses, enhance your style and provide comfort. Have fun selecting good sunglasses. It can make you look young and even mysterious.
