If you are thinking about buying a Sport Utility Vehicle, or SUV, you are probably looking for a vehicle that offers an abundance of seating and storage. An SUV can certainly help you get from Point A to Point B on a daily basis, but there may be a lot more you want to learn about them. SUVs offer many advantages and disadvantages.

    Plenty of Space

One of the obvious advantages to buying an SUV is the large amount of space you have in your vehicle. Clearly, an SUV can hold much more than your average sedan. In addition to your family, you can also haul sporting equipment, pets, furniture, tools, luggage, and other necessities.

    Larger Physical Size

The size of an SUV can be an advantage or a disadvantage depending on your personal stance. Some people like the safety and extra protection a larger vehicle can provide.

The higher wheels and wider stature can make an SUV a safe choice for families. On the other hand, SUVs do come with a higher rate of rollovers in accidents and may be harder to park in small spots.

    Fuel Costs

Unfortunately, SUVs come with one very important cost: fuel. With the increased size also comes an increase in the amount of fuel your vehicle needs. You will see a decrease in fuel performance as your fuel costs rise.

As a result, you may find that this is not the most economical choice for a smaller family. Additionally, this also leads to an increase in emissions. Driving an SUV can increase your carbon footprint, though many of the newer SUVs are more eco-friendly than they used to be.

Should You Consider Buying a Nissan SUV?

Nissan offers a wide range of cars and SUVs that suit your family’s needs. Whether you are passionate about finding an eco-friendly SUV or you want to drive something safe that is also large enough for your family, you’ll be able to find the right vehicle.
